According to Madhhab:
We are currently living in an area with very limited access to Islamic activities (which is altogether very difficult to find in Germany), also amongst our contacts of Family and Friends, are most people with very little focus on ALLAH s.w.t and Aakhirah and thus having altogether very little spirituality and Noor.
We have now noticed that over the time the hearts of people have hardened, relations have become worse, spirituality has decreased; and altogether the environment of Noor at home, which was previously better, is now becoming worse; although we as a family engage in many acts of 'Ibaadah most of the time, but it seems as if it has no effect on the hearts and the environment at home.
We have listened to one of your Audios "Dua - 20171016 - Monday" where you described the environment of Noor and Darkness.
On this basis, could you please give us any advice on how to improve the environment of Noor and Imaan at home, while living in a place and time of darkness; and how to stop the darkness ( zulumaat) from outside and their effects to enter our home and hearts.
Our advice would be to establish a spiritual link with some pious reliable Sheikh of Tasawwuf who would be able to guide you in various matters of Deen.
He would most probably together with encouraging good deeds and acts of Ibaadat advise abstention from all forms of sins. It is due to sins that the Noor and the effect of good deeds are obliterated and as a result one is deprived of seeing the spiritual benefits of his good actions.
One is therefore required to abstain from any such act which displeases Allah Taáala and is against the teachings of His Rasul Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam such as watching television, listening to music, keeping pictures of animate objects in the homes, taking pictures of animate objects, visiting places of vice and evil, reading immoral magazines and novels, visiting immoral websites, etc. These are some the acts that will create darkness in one’s home and life.
In order to enliven one’s home with blessings and Noor, one is required to repent from all past sins and engage in plenty of Istighfaar, recite Quraan Sharif daily, engage in Zikrullah as prescribed by one’s Sheikh (spiritual guide), have Taleem on a daily basis at home, spend time in the path of Allah and in the company of the pious, and refrain from all such actions that draws Allah’s Displeasure. One’s outward appearance as well as internal condition should both conform to Shariah.
These are just some of the solutions that come to mind at this point and point. However, for every problem there is different solution. We therefore once again suggest that establishing a spiritual with a Sheikh will be extremely beneficial particularly in this day and age.
In regards to the recording that you mentioned, we are not aware as to whose clip is being referred to. If you are referring to the clips that are on the Darul Uloom Azaadville website or Khanqah Akhtari website then these are most probably the clips of Hadrat Maulana Abdul Hamid Saheb D.B. If your heart inclines towards accepting Hadrat Maulana as your spiritual guide then you may establish a relationship with him and forward all your correspondence to him directly.
