Question:
Previosly one was
unaware regarding rules of tahaarat. Some Salaah and fasts were most likely
performed in a state of impurity or broken due to ignorance. There is no
certainty on how many Salaah and fasts were affected. What should one do in
this regard and is it necessary to perform Qadha?

Answer:
Salaah that was performed in a state of impurity will not be valid. Qadha of all such Salaah as well as Taubah will be necessary. One will also be required to make Qadha of all those Salaah that were broken after commencing it whether Fardh, Sunnah or Nafl.
If one commenced his/her fast in a state of Janaabat (impurity) then the fast will be considered to be valid. However, if one had commenced an optional (Nafl) fast which was later broken, then only Qadha of the broken fast will be necessary, but if one broke a fast of Ramadaan without a valid reason then one will be required to make Qadha of the missed fast and also discharge its Kaffarah as well.
