Question:

The
ruling is clear cut and well know that woman are not allowed to cut or trim
their hair. also, alhamdulillaah my father too has been quite strict with
regards to this matter. he has never allowed me to trim my hair. however i have
been a problem with hair loss due to witch my hair have become very thin.
recently one experienced hair stylist had a look at my hair and noticed that
the split ends in my hair have reached the roots of my hair due to witch my
hair is falling off and and she also mentioned that if i do not get rid of my
split ends my hair will stop growing after some time. concerning my scenario,
will it permissible for me to get rid of the split ends in my hair also
considering the fact that i still have to get married?

Answer:

It is not permissible for a female to trim her hair under normal circumstances. However, Ulama have given permission for trimming split ends of the hair if the hair is not long enough and it has stopped growing due to the split ends. The trimming of the split ends would thus not be in order to stunt the growth of the hair but rather to stimulate and enhance its growth. If the hair is already long enough, then even this will not be permissible. (Re:- Fatawaa Rahimiyah vol.10 pg.322).

And Allah Ta'aala knows best!
