Question: 

My home and
family have been plagued by a number of challenges and issues recently that
have become overwhelmingly burdensome.



Besides my and our own individual supplications is there any practice according
to the Sunnah that I could employ to beseech the assistance from my Creator to
alleviate my plight.



In particular, I was thinking of a Yaseen Khatm by my family and I. Is this
allowed?

Answer: 

First and foremost, we are required to please our Creator and Master Allah Ta’aala at all times, seek pardon for our sins and refrain from disobeying Him. Thereafter, place our trust in Allah Ta’aala and rely upon Him in all the affairs of this Dunya and the Hereafter. Hereunder are a few supplications to ease and alleviate the difficulties:

رَ ب إِ نّ لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَََّ مِنْ خَيٍْْ فَقِيْ ر

O my Rabb, I am in need of every good sent to me by you.

لََ إِلَهَ إِلََّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِ نّ كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِين

There is no deity besides you, you are glorified, indeed I am from the wrongdoers.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِِ الْْخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّا ر

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of Fire.

حَسْبُنَا اللََُّّ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.i

Furthermore, you may also instruct your family to recite Surah Yaseen individually and seek assistance from Allah Ta’aala. This will, Insha’ Allah Taa’la, bring comfort and prosperity in your life and the complications will be eliminated.

Our master Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam has said:

مَنْ قَرَأَ " يس " فِِ صَدْرِ النَّهَارِ قضيت حَوَائِجُه 

Whoever recites Surah Yaseen at the beginning of the day, his needs are satisfied.ii

May Allah Ta’aala assist you in every regard and ease your difficulties.

AND ALLAH TA’AALA ALONE IN HIS INFINITE KNOWLEDGE KNOWS BEST
