According to Madhhab:
1)If a person became
balag in Zilqidah & zakah is due on him but doesn't remember the date, what
should he do?
2)If for the sake of remembering his annual zakah, can one permanentaly change
his zakah due date to 1st Ramadan from Zilqidah. I.e. he is fixing the zakah
due date a few months earlier than the actual due date?
1. If a person becomes Baligh (mature) in such a state where he possesses the Nisab amount, he will be liable to pay his Zakat after one year on the same date when he became Baligh (mature). In the enquired scenario, where the person does not remember the exact date of Buloogh maturity, he will contemplate and ponder on which Islamic date of Zul Qa'dah he became Baligh and that date will be fixed for calculating and discharging his Zakat; however, if he is unable to think of a date, he will stipulate an Islamic date from his side. Thereafter, he will calculate and discharge his Zakat on that stipulated date.
2. One cannot change the dates from his side, he will have to calculate his Zakat on the same date when he possessed the Nisab amount for the first time. In the enquired instance, he cannot change the dates; however, he can discharge his Zakat in advance in the blessed month of Ramadhan if he wills and desires to acquire additional rewards and blessings. Henceforth, if one discharges his Zakat in advance, he will have to calculate and check when the entire year finishes that the Zakat amount paid in advance, was it more or less than the Zakat amount that was due? Thereafter, in the former case (where he gave more), he can consider the extra amount as advance Zakaar for the following year and deduct that extra amount from next year’s Zakat and in the latter scenario, he will discharge the balance in Zakat.
